Christmas in August?
As promised, the rest of our vacation in pictures :)
We drove down to Spring Mill State Park and stopped for the afternoon/evening. We got a nice secluded spot and set up camp in a lot of humidity. I didn't end up with many good pictures of the spot, they came out dark. We had lots of racoon visitors trying to snatch up our food. Unfortunately, the pool closed at 7, which we didn't realize until we went over to cool off. But we made the best of it anyway, played at the playground, took showers to cool down, and didn't have any trouble getting the kids to bed this time.
It rained all night but we stayed dry in our tent. It was annoying packing up in the rain, but we did it, and drove down the rest of the way to Santa Claus, Indiana and Lake Rudolph.
It stopped raining right about when we got there (very lucky!) so we set up as quick as we could in the humidity and headed over to Blitzen Bay pool.

Then we went paddle boating in Lake Rudolph. This is the view of the Raven from my seat in the boat.
And then we went fishing. Didn't catch anything but it was fun, anyway.
It rained again over night. Here's Rob making pancakes in the rain the next morning. The stove and table are under the tarp but his back got all wet when he knocked water off the top of the rain fly getting out. They were *great* pancakes, though!
The rain didn't let up but we went to Holiday World anyway. We played Skeeball and waited for it to stop raining.
Sean driving an old time car on the Lewis and Clark Trail.
Everyone riding in a canoe on the Indian River.
Salmon Run. Possibly the kids' favorite ride. That guy giving Molly 5 was there last year and the kids remembered him :)
Caitie doing the Hokey Pokey with Holidog and Safari Sam in Holidog's Fun Town
Caitie and I riding the Howler. She wasn't sure she liked it, but she ended up riding it again several more times!
Sean playing with his wooden snake. They each got one and are still playing with them.
Molly, Sean and I going on Frightful Falls.
Sean wanted to ride it again (Molly did NOT). Sean didn't like it so much the second time.
The we headed to Rudolph's Reindeer Ranch and let the kids play while we took turn riding roller coasters.
Sean riding the Dancer's Thunder Bumpers.
Molly hiding in the balls at the Dear Playground.
Prancer's Merry-Go-Round
Blitzen's Airplanes
Caitie fishing for frogs. She won a jellyfish!
Here's Sean. We were got back to the camp ground and were sitting down lighting a fire when I noticed he was awfully quiet. I looked over and saw him crashed out.
Next morning we hung around the camp ground for a while. Caitie made friends with a girl who was camping next to us and we all went to the play ground.
And played miniature golf.
Or Golth, as Sean calls it. He really likes golth.
Then back to the park it was!
We spent most of the day in Splashin Safari. I didn't take pictures of most of it because the camera was locked in the locker, but we had a blast. Everyone enjoyed Monsoon Lagoon, a huge playground covered in water. There's a lazy river, tons of water slides, and these are pictures from the wave pool.

Just when we were getting ready to get in line for a big slide, a huge black cloud blew in and people started leaving the water park in droves. When the lightening came they closed the rides.
We took shelter in a bathroom.
The downpour let up to a light rain so we put on dry clothes and ventured out. That's everyone bundled up. Sean is still asleep under the towel on Rob's shoulder.
We did get to ride a few more rides and it stopped raining before we left. We hit the highlights again and got in some shopping.
Next morning we had breakfast and lunch, packed up the tent and everything else and then played around at the camp ground for the afternoon. Here's one of the only shots I got of our tent. Molly is offering everyone a sandwich.
Caitie and Sean blowing on the fire trying to make lunch.
We went swimming again, played golth and horseshoes.
We really had a great time on our trip. Despite all the rain we stayed dry in the tent, and really we had nice weather most of the times that mattered.
